My story
Hi, I’m Lee Read, Founder and Lead Instructor at Swim School UK.
Swimming has been a critical part of my life for over 30 years. From my first lesson as a student in Windermere, to swimming competitions and my first lesson as a teacher, I have always felt a real passion for the sport and respect for the water.
I started my own Swim School after graduating from University, after 25 years of growing my business and helping 1000s of people to reach and exceed their swimming goals, along came the global pandemic. Like most of us, this badly affected customers, my business and me.
However, it was also the motivation I needed to complete a lifelong ambition and create my own unique purpose-built swimming environment for people to reconnect with swimming.
Our facility in Kendal was created from an industrial shipping container that we have repurposed and given a new life as a swimming pool. After months of hard work, long days and nights, I am delighted to provide the perfect environment to teach swimming from, learn in and for parents to share in their childs swimming journey.
Every teacher has their own style and I pride my approach and dedication to the swimming craft on the opinions of those who I’ve helped.
